For cold winter days when fresh fruit and chilled drinks lose their appeal, try a Quick Bouillon Pick-Up. It’s also a great drink when you come into the house cold, tired, hungry and need instant help. I drink it with fresh crushed garlic. If you decide to go that route, you might want to use some fresh chopped parsley. |

For a long time I tried to figure out why some people can eat garlic to their heart’s content and never give off that awful garlic stench, while others radiate an unpleasant garlic smell that means you want to stay as far away from them as possible. Then I began to watch what these people eat. If you eat foods heavy in refined and cooked carbohydrates such as pasta and white bread, and especially if you drink cheap red wine, the garlic smell is terrible. This is also true if you have some kind of stomach disturbance. Otherwise it is not only minimized, it can be truly pleasant. But if you are worried add a little chopped parsley to it. |
