STRAWBERRY PROTECTOR

serves 2

Delicious breakfasts

What You Need

1-1/2 cups of soy milk
100g of fresh or frozen strawberries
1 ripe medium banana, peeled and sliced
2 tablespoons of oat bran
1 tablespoon of vanilla extract
A shake of nutmeg

Here's How

Put everything into a blender except the nutmeg and mix until thick and smooth. Before serving sprinkle with a little nutmeg.

Other Ways To Go

APPLEJACK: Replace the strawberries with two fresh apples and add cinnamon to the top.
PINEAPPLE DELIGHT: Replace the strawberries with fresh pineapple and blend together with three or four leaves of fresh mint.
BLUEBERRY SHAKE: Use a large handful of blueberries in place of the strawberries. Top with chopped almonds.

This is an instant breakfast, full of minerals and vitamins. High in fiber and low in fat, it is also rich in potassium. All you need to make it is a blender. It has many variations, all of them delicious. I use whatever fruits I happen to have available. It is a particularly good recipe made with organic soya milk, since Soya is full of isoflavones to help counter the damaging effects to the reproductive system of petrochemically-derived herbicides and pesticides in our foods and environment. These ubiquitous chemicals screw up the reproductive systems of men and women and result in a great deal of suffering, from PMS to the development of osteoporosis in women, and low sperm count in men. Most important of all, it is delicious - especially in summer with some chopped ice added.

Wonderful life-giving foods, and information about what some of them can do to help prevent premature aging, protect you from degenerative conditions such as diabetes, cancer and heart disease, enhance your mood, intensify your delight in love-making, even encourage sleep inspired me to write Cook Energy, for help for all of these things is to be found in delicious foods.
