1: X Factor book is the most remarkable book
I have ever read in my life. 1: I would like to say that I think your X Factor book is the most remarkable book I have ever read in my life - the info you have collated and the way you have explained each detail in user friendly language will, in my opinion, make this book the benchmark in global nutrition, for the public, for a long time. I am a teacher of nutrition, and I cried with relief on reading your reportage - I had been suspecting for a long time that all was not right, and had been becoming increasingly uncomfortable teaching under the obsolete doctrines. I agree with you that we on on the tip of many more exciting discoveries in relation to nutrition and how the body functions. I now feel confident about talking with my students in this new manner regarding nutrition, and will never again be persuaded otherwise - all the stuff in your book simply just makes too much good sense. Many thanks for your kind remarks about X Factor Diet. I have had the most rewarding reports from people who have worked with it in the last year, (even before the book was published). It seems that when we eat in a way that our bodies are genetically programmed to thrive on, so many things that appear to be abnormal in our metabolisms automatically shift. What is particularly exciting to me are the transformations I see on a psychological, spiritual and creative level which X Factor Diet seems to help people connect with. It’s as though it’s one of the useful tools that can make it possible for people to become more who they truly are. 2: Hi, I am on Ketogenics and all is going well, I have lost 10kg in the first 2 weeks, and probably eating more than ever. There are a couple of issues not raised in your book 1) How does salt fit into your diet. 2) I drink about 3,5 litres of water per day, does this not effect the Ketostix readings? 3) Is there any health limitations to how many eggs (organic) one should eat in one week? 4)I drink distilled water, is this OK, or does it leach minerals from your body? 5) Can you take whey protein twice per day instead of a snack? 6)What about cancer, is there any research that shows Ketogenics prevents or helps to prevents cancer(because now I don't eat carrots or drink carrot juice) I would not worry at all about salt. Use as much or as little salt as you please unless you have some medical reason why you need to limit your salt. Few people do. As far as drinking water is concerned, yes indeed, the amount of water you drink does affect the Ketostix reading to some degree, but water is extremely important. You do not need to drink three and a half litres of water if you are uncomfortable with that amount but you certainly need a liter and a half a day. Distilled water is fine for most people, when you are eating low glycaemic vegetables, you are likely to be getting plenty of minerals. An alternative is a good quality spring water. Whatever water you drink, it should be pure. Eggs are fine. They are rich in the sulphur-based amino acids which are enormously important in protecting the body from free radical damage and degeneration. It is perfectly fine to take whey protein twice a day. I often do myself, particularly when I am on the move. I am not aware that a ketogenic diet helps prevent cancer. What I am aware of is that Ketogenics and Insulin Balance are both powerfully detoxifying to the body. This is a valuable ability when it comes to preventing all sorts of degeneration. Remember it’s important that as soon as your body fat drops to less than 35% if you’re female or less than 22% if you’re male, to switch over to insulin balance. Ketogenics is only a stopgap measure to get you to the point where your body will continue with ease to shed excess fat. Insulin balance is a program for life. 3: My husband is getting great results from ketogenics. I am low in energy, headachy and have very tired legs....any thoughts? I know it is normal to undergo a process of detoxification when switching to a raw diet. Although I have followed Leslie's advice in how to do this I am feeling dreadful. I am suffering from bad nausea, stomach discomfort, back and chest muscle pain, depression, etc. Even the thought of eating more raw food makes me feel ill. Please advice if this sounds normal. My previous diet was quite healthy. No wheat, no sugar,no animal fat and loads of boiled vegetables and pulses. I don't see why I should feel so bad just because I have started eating some raw vegetables. Everyone is biochemically unique. It may be that you simply do not thrive on raw vegetables. There are a few people for whom this is true. There is nothing to keep you from eating your vegetables cooked. Something else that concerns me about the report of your experience with X Factor Diet, is the possibility that you may have an overgrowth of Candidiasis. This is proliferation in the gastro intestinal track of a form of yeast or fungus which is usually benign, called Candida albicans. When this bacteria overgrows - something that is now becoming widespread – it develops a complex medical syndrome called Chronic Candidiasis or the Yeast Syndrome – and causes a wide variety of symptoms in virtually every system of the body. There is an excellent book written some time ago by Orion Truss, called The Missing Diagnosis, and another written by William Cook called The Yeast Connection. I suggest you look at these two. In all human beings Candida albicans is designed to live in small quantities in the inner warm creases and crevices of our digestive system as well as the vaginal tract of women. Frequently, however, this yeast overgrows. This happens when your immune system becomes depleted or when the lining of your intestinal tract has been damaged in some way. Then the body can actually absorb yeast cells, and the toxins that are related to them. This, in turn, disrupts so many of the body’s processes that it’s hard to list them all. There are all sorts of contributing factors that predispose someone to a Candida overgrowth. They include:
In time Candidiasis can produce all sorts of symptoms
from digestive upset to fatigue and lethargy, poor memory, feeling spacy
or depressed, muscle weakness, bloating, a loss of sexual drive to mention
only a few. The book that I am writing now, Age Power, has a large section
on Candida. It will be published in August and September 2002. According
to the Candida Research and Information Foundation Newsletter "The
numbers continue to grow of people of all ages presenting with what has
become an all too familiar set of symptoms, who are told by their doctor
to see a psychiatrist, to grow up, to have an affair, to get a job, or
simply laughed out of the office … among the many stories … there is indeed
a serious problem … affecting the young and the elderly and all ages in
between. You might like to look on the Web under Candidiasis. I did find
not long ago an excellent article on Candidiasis in general. I don’t remember
the name of the website but the article was called Candidiasis: scourge
of arthritics. It covered a great deal more, however, than the relationship
between Candida Albicans and arthritis. 4: I am in the middle of your Journey to Freedom program which is wonderful and I'd highly recommend it to anyone in need of getting in touch with their soul. My question is this: Where can I purchase a small, egg-shaped rattle, or indeed any small rattle? I've rummaged through many shops and can only find larger ones, which I find too noisy for comfort and would also probably disrupt neighbors. Small egg-shaped rattles are available in almost any music store that sells musical instruments. They are very inexpensive and wonderful to carry around with you. I keep one in my pocket or my handbag whenever I travel. 5: I've been following the X factor diet for about 2 months. My question is - why DO I have so much energy. I understand the process, but why does burning fat seem to be so much better than carbs? BTW - thankyou - I've lost over 15kgs and I've never felt better in my life! I am delighted to hear how well you feel and how much energy you have on the X Factor Diet. There are many possible reasons for this. First, you are not burdening your system with high-glycaemic carbohydrates – one of the most common causes of low energy. Second, you are supplying your body with what is genetically programmed to thrive on. The moment we do this, and any toxicity in our body begins to clear, our energy soars. The energy surge that you have been experiencing for two months is a common experience among those using the X Factor Program Enjoy it! 6: I would like to know what your recommendations are about when to drink water - I have read from some sources that to drink fluids with a meal will dilute digestive fluids. I am also curious to know how you overcame allergies. I am struggling to get to a diet that is unreactive on my gut and on my baby's bottom. I am also wondering where nuts fit into the protein picture - there is no mention of them in your new book, except in recipes. Do you know their biological values? How much would you consider as a serving? Are they a good protein source for vegetarians Water plays a major part in digesting your food and absorbing nutrients, thanks to enzymes which are themselves mostly water. If you fail to drink enough water between meals, your mouth becomes low in saliva and digestion suffers. Water is the medium through which wastes are eliminated from your body. Every time you exhale, you release highly humidified air – about two big glasses worth a day. Your kidneys and intestines eliminate another six or so glasses every twenty-four hours, while another two glasses worth are released through the pores of your skin. That makes about ten glasses a day and that is on a cool day. When it gets hot or when you are exercising, you’re using a great deal more. Few of us drink as much water as we need to, to remain in top form. I personally drink water between meals rather than at meals. Generally you find that if you do this, you’re not even thirsty when you are eating. As far as allergies are concerned Candidiasis (see above) is a common underlying cause of all sorts of allergies from skin sensitivities and athletes foot to food sensitivities. Also many people with insulin resistance and glucose problems are actually allergic or sensitive to certain foods or chemicals in their environment which can trigger fatigue and symptoms. Investigate this possibility. Get rid of all refined and processed foods from your diet. Avoid fruit juices and stay away from very sweet fruits such as figs and dates as well as any dried fruits. Look at the Insulin Balance Program on X Factor Diet. It’s an ideal lifelong way of eating and living for just about anybody. 7: What is the best source of whey and where can it be obtained in the Christchurch area? I live in Whakatane New Zealand and would like to try the ketogenics diet. Where do I source products and supplements that you recommend in new Zealand? If you look in the back of X Factor Diet, you will find a resources section that helps in sourcing anything you need. The products you want can be purchased in New Zealand without a problem, from health food stores. Good quality micro-filtered whey can also be purchased either from good health food stores or from a gym. Brands that I particularly like are Solgar, Twin Labs, and Bio Pure which is available from Metagenics. See Resources on this website. If you have trouble sourcing anything, I suggest you get in touch with Helen Hope at Kohi Health, Eastridge Mall, Kepa Road, Mission Bay, Auckland, New Zealand. Telephone 09 521 2404 or look on their website www.health2000.co.nz/kohi 8: Will Leslie be doing any journey to freedom workshops in Ireland? I attended the first two parts a couple of years ago, but the final part was canceled. For sometime I have been looking for someone competent to organize my Journey to Freedom Workshops in Ireland. As soon as I find the right person, I will most certainly be teaching there. I have also been asked to teach in Australia but have not yet found the right person to organize the workshops for me there either. As soon as I do, I will be teaching more Journey to Freedoms everywhere. 9: I have just started on the ketogenic diet and wondered what the carb. Content of sea vegetables is. I make my own miso soup. Sea vegetables are a wonderful source of low gut glycaemic nutrition. Eat as many as you like. 10: I have used wild yam cream and felt some relief from pms symptoms but not completely. I then tried 3 months of natural progesterone (serenity) cream and it seems to have got worse is this oestrogen dominance and should I stop using it? I am at the stage where I either stop using it or buy more and quite frankly dont know what to do, I would appreciate your help. Thank you. I would suggest that you try a combination of the herbal remedies that have been used for centuries for female problems: black cohosh, chaste tree, and dong quai – Chinese angelica. Be patient. It usually takes about six weeks for their benefits to kick in. They work particularly well together. Make sure you get a good clean source of herbs. 11: Help, your X Factor Book makes so much sense, but I seem to have stopped losing weight (although I am eating the same as when I started). I have lost 1 stone but have another half to go. Any ideas? Thank you Plateaux are part and parcel of shedding fat from the body. Many people lose as much as four pounds a week for the first two or three weeks and then settle down to a steady half to two pounds a week for months and then all at once weight loss seems to stop. So far as I know, no one has ever been able to figure out the exact cause of plateauing. If it happens to you, there are many things you need to check out. Take a look at the Troubleshooting chapter on page 223 of The X Factor Diet. 12: Do you think you will ever write an autobiography? I've been reading your books for so many years now and would love to learn more about the making of such an influential and talented individual...you! I have to confess that it’s never in my life occurred to me to write an autobiography. I have a sense that my life is only beginning. I am very excited about the novel that I have been working on for some time which I hope to finish within the next few months. It is based on the Selkie legends – the Scottish and Irish legends about male and female seals who come ashore and take on human form. I also have plans for film scripts and directing films in the next few years. Maybe thirty or forty years from now, I might write an autobiography. Until then, I feel that I am not in any way ready to look back on my life. There is too much that absorbs me right now. 13: I have no questions for Leslie I would like to send her a letter of admiration since January Please can I have her e-mail address or home address in Pembrokeshire. She has changed my life perhaps she could e-mail me for security reasons, I have been trying to find her e-mail address Any communication you want to make with Leslie, do send to the website. She reads all the questions sent in by friends. 14: What is your opinion of the different exercise regimes available i.e. Oxycise and Slendertone? I like Oxycise. Frankly I find Slendertone a nuisance. The principle of it is excellent. However, I have never known anyone who bought a Slendertone machine and continued to use it past the first two or three weeks. 15: I have a lot of pain with my body so have time to think. OK this might sound crazy. I feel this calling regarding America Indians. As if someone is waiting for me. I know it is not a spirit guide as that is my father. Honest I am not mad. But things have been leading me in that direction. I came across some C.D. I have always been interested so this doesn’t surprise me. Where do I go from here please. Thanking you I don’t know what country you live in. However, I suggest that you contact the Academy for Shamanic Studies in New Zealand. (I think you will find them on the web) and ask if they can recommend someone you can work with. Your experience is a common one and, I believe, an important one. In some way, the spirit helpers that work with you are probably trying to make deeper contact with you. This is a great gift. Make use of it. 16: First I would like to thank you for the very interesting and inspiring talk you gave at the Glenroy in Dunedin recently. I am following the Ketogenic diet and am in my 2nd week. I am amazed at the change in my body and mind. I feel more alert and have more energy than I have had for many years (I am 65 years young). I have also lost 2kgs which is an added bonus. Now to my question. I have looked for the Cauliflower Mash recipe on page 276 (day 11) but am unable to find it. Could you please help me. Many thanks I am pleased to hear that you are doing so well on the X Factor Diet. Thanks so much for letting me know about the error in the index of the book. I will certainly let my publisher know as I know they are reprinting yet again very soon. To make cauliflower mashed potatoes, all you do is steam cauliflower florets until they are soft, then puree them in a food processor or a food mill, adding a little butter or olive oil, salt and pepper and serve immediately hot. I like to add a little Cajun seasoning and some garlic. 17: I have a newborn whom I am weaning, he's nearly 6 months old. Given the info in your new book I would love a suggested diet for him-as the babyfood suggested is rice, cereals, fruit etc? All high carbs. Is there other ways I can feed him more healthily, and his tummy handle it? I am delighted to hear that you don’t want to feed your baby on packaged and tinned baby foods. They are one of the worst starts you can give a child. Much too high in sugar, they carry little nutritional value and high glycaemic carbs, since they have been over processed. When I see a woman trying to shove baby foods down her baby and the baby resisting, I often admire the intelligence of the child. There is no reason why your baby can’t eat the same foods that you eat. I recommend using one of those handheld mixers that puree foods very quickly. Brown rice, vegetables, fruit are excellent. So is fish (beware of the bones), chicken, meat (organic if possible), eggs, and all of the things that you would ordinarily eat yourself. I think it’s a good idea to start with very small quantities. Offer the baby a tiny bit and if he likes it, then he can have more. If not, then simply throw it away or eat it yourself. That way you don’t get into the situation where you are constantly trying to force your child to eat more because the foods you are feeding him are expensive. 18: I have checked my temperature early in the morning and it is regularly 97. I have had my thyroid levels checked and my doctor says they are within the normal limits. What should I do now? I suggest that you look at the Insulin Balance Program in The X Factor Diet and that you read the query above about Candidiasis. When there is an overgrowth of Candida in the body, this suppresses thyroid. Many people find that a low thyroid returns to normal simply by shifting diet. 19: After 6 successful weeks on the ketogenics diet, what should I do to reduce the persistent muscle-fatigue I experience? I have tried increasing my potassium and protein, but I still feel disinclined to exercise, despite being moderately active before beginning the diet. After six weeks on the Ketogenic Diet, I would think it’s time to shift to Insulin Balance. I would also suggest that you commit yourself to walking for half an hour a day at whatever pace is comfortable for you. The important thing is that you simply decide to do it and do it. 20: Do you consider Avocado Oil to be beneficial? Which of your books do you recommend specifically for energy recipes? For energy I recommend The X Factor Diet. Avocados are a good source of Omega 6 fatty acids and an excellent food. 21: I was diagnosed with insulin resistance & high androgen levels almost 1 year ago. I was prescribed Metformin in increasing dosage. Initially it stopped the weight gain & I lost 4 kg. However I still felt sluggish, tired, had light headed times during the day and mood swings. I read your book The X Factor diet, threw out the Metformin, started on the diet and feel great after only a week. I have lost 4kg already, have more energy than in ages, & have to eat some fruit or extra veges during the day as well as the high protein snacks to keep the ketone levels in my urine at moderate level. Unless I eat a lot more than recommended on the Ketogenic diet I don't seem to be able to get the levels to small. My cholesterol levels are low and my blood pressure is normal despite being 165cm & over 100kg. Is it advisable to stop taking Metformin while on the regime? It is important to work with your doctor or a nutritionist or other health practitioner trained in functional medicine (see Resources) if you are on any sort of medication for Adult Onset Diabetes (Type II Diabetes)and you wish to follow The X Factor Diet. Many people find that they no longer need their medication and that it has to be decreased gradually as their insulin sensitivity and blood sugar normalizes. It is important that you drink enough water and that you increase the amount of low glycaemic vegetables that you are eating to the point at which you remain in "small" or "trace" levels of ketones in your urine. This is something that can be adjusted. You probably need a lot more fresh green low-glycaemic vegetables. 22: I have high testosterone and have facial hair. I went to an endorcrinologist and he tested me for polycystic ovary disease but thought I didn't have it. (A Scan did not show it). Blood tests showed that I would have to watch my diet as a glucose test was high. I am a bit overweight. I have tried lots of treatments to reduce the facial hair but nothing has reduced it. It has increased as I get older. Can you recommend anything? Can diet effect it? What foods are best to avoid? I suggest you work with a doctor or a health practitioner trained in functional medicine (see Resources). Read The X Factor Diet. The insulin balance way of living often normalizes endocrine imbalances. 23: I am a bit confused over the quantities for the insulin balance diet. My understanding is 1 palm of protein, 2 palms of good carbohydrates and 1 tbsp of fat per meal (I assume that is 3 meals per day) Why then on page 119 of your x factor book do the breakfasts only contain 1 palm of carbohydrate? Do I eat another palmful as a snack or make it up elsewhere-its bugging me. Also how many snacks are allowed per day and are they supposed to be protein only? Also where can I obtain microfiltered whey in New-Zealand? I am very keen to start the diet but wish to do it correctly.Your help would be much appreciated. Thankyou. The suggestions for the amount of carbohydrate on the Insulin Balance Diet are nothing more than suggestions. In truth, once you get into the program you will find that you can pretty much eat as many low glycaemic vegetables as you wish, either as part of a snack or in your meals. It’s important not to get upset with quantities. It’s the basic principles that matter. I think you will find, as so many have, that they are lifechanging. 24: I'm 18 and have been a 100% raw foodist for about a year, but started to get really weak at the end of it. So I started to read your books and thought that I would start on the cellulite revolution diet. I've recently been preparing for it, I've bought all the supplements you recommend ect and was all geared up to go. While I was buying your biogenic recipe book(for my anti cellulite diet), I also noticed the X Factor book and had to get that too! I was now wondering if there is any way to combine the cellulite revolution, a high percentage of raw food, and the X factor diet and all the supplements entailed together, plus what I am taking at the moment- wheatgrass, spirulina and oil of evening primrose! Thanks PS I saw you in person at a health fair 2 years ago and I thought you looked really wonderful! When I came upon research upon which The X Factor Diet was based, it was like the missing piece to a puzzle that began with raw energy. I, too, ate a great deal of raw food back twenty-five years ago and benefited enormously from it. However, I am aware that it is important not to become fanatical about raw food. It is only one part of the equation. The X Factor Diet which introduces far more protein than I, and many others, believed we needed when I wrote Raw Energy, as well as good quantities of the Omega 3 fats, completes the picture. Try it and see. 25: Please kindly advise if you are having any workshops in Christchurch NZ as it only mentions UK ones on the website. Thank You. I am not teaching any workshops at the moment in Christchurch, New Zealand. When the right person comes along who wishes to organize workshops for me in New Zealand, then I will certainly teach some. 26: At the moment I have been night sweating a lot, weather it is hormonal or diet I don’t know. Do I need a multivitamin or is there something lacking in my diet, or is it the contraception Pill. I am a 24 year old girl and I try to keep healthy as possible, if you could be of any help that would appreciated. It’s important that you seek out a good nutritionist or health practitioner trained in functional medicine to look at your specific metabolic needs. It could well be that your body is detoxifying itself and this could well be hormonal – the result of taking the contraceptive pill. If I were you, I would investigate other alternatives (of which there are many) for birth control. There are many reasons not to use the birth control pill. Long term it has many negative implications for a woman’s health. 27: I have been taking Kelp in tablet form ever since first reading 'The Joy of Beauty' some years ago. What worries me is taking it this way whilst pregnant and/or breastfeeding. Will it harm the child? I take 4 in the morning and 4 in the evening of 1000mg of concentrated Kelp(Fucus vesiculosus)Thank you! There is no problem whatsoever with taking a good source of kelp at any time in your life. 28: Leslie, you attended a meeting of Overeater's Anonymous in mid-2001 - I remember it distinctly in Papanui, Christchurch - 12 Steps to cure the food-addict - do you feel there is there such a thing as an ADDICTION to food? In the same context as rugs/alcohol I mean. Yes, of course, addictions to food exist and they can be highly biochemical, in the same context as drugs or alcohol. Take a look at Endless Energy where we deal with this issue. 29: I am vegetarian. In the X factor book you say to restrict cheese to 100g - does that apply if its a main part of your protein? I don’t think that cheese is the best protein food for a vegetarian to eat and I would certainly restrict it to 100g. Use tofu, microfiltered whey, and eggs instead. 30: I really enjoyed your talk the other night at Contours gym (in Auckland) and have subsequently been reading your X-Factor book. I have also been to my local health-food store and bought some Omega 3 capsules and liquid chromium picolinate that has been catalyzed with TJ Clark colloidal minerals. My question is this - are colloidal minerals safe? I have read conflicting reports on the Internet and would appreciate your guidance. I don't want to poison myself or my family! I’m afraid I don’t know the specific brand of colloidal minerals which you’ve purchased. If it were me, I would investigate colloidal minerals on the web and see what you come up with. I would also pay attention to how you feel on them. 31: The Blood Type Diet is one of many books available and suggests that blood type 0 should avoid many things including coconut, whey protein, cauliflower, strawberries, cucumber, etc all of which are low carbohydrate and which your book on ketogenics recommends. I am concerned about re-adding these foods which I try to avoid. Do you have any explanation? P.S I strongly believe in low-carb/ketogenics and have read your book and Atkins and Protein Power and The Zone but who is right????? I am constantly asked about the Blood Type Diet. I like very much the books and find the suggestions that each of us of different blood types need a different diet - very interesting. It’s important to remember, however, that this approach to eating is not based on scientific research. It is mostly highly theoretical. In my experience that most people that are blood group O – those that are said to need meat in their diet - do better when they add more protein. But then almost all of us do better when we add more protein. So far I have only met three people of blood group A who claim their lives have improved by becoming vegetarian (they are allowed a bit of fish). I don’t think there is any "right" or "wrong" in relation to comparing the Adkins Diet and Protein Power and the Zone Diet with The X Factor Diet. They all have a great deal in common and move along the same lines. The major difference is that The X Factor Diet was put together out of two basic branches of research: one concerned with the identification and rectification of insulin resistance (Syndrome X) and the other the work of paleopathologists who have, for thirty years, been investigating what appears to be the "ideal" diet on which human beings thrive. The X Factor Diet is designed quite simply to raise your body to the highest level of metabolic wellbeing. By doing so it encourages whatever is "abnormal" in your body to restore itself to normal. The X Factor Diet is not in any way a slimming diet and the weight loss that accompanies it is simply part of that normalizing process. 32: I do not have all my teeth (I am pushing 72) and I think I would find eating a lot of raw vegetables difficult. Would it not be as good to juice them? I have just bought a juicer. Yes, you can certainly juice raw vegetables but why not eat cooked vegetables instead of raw if you have trouble chewing raw ones. 33: I'm having difficulties living without bread. What do you think about bread made of Gluten wheat flour - is that OK, as it has very little carb? If you are having difficulties living without bread, what I would suspect is some kind of a food allergy, maybe to wheat, maybe simply to grains as a whole. Many people do suffer this. Try making your own bread with soya flour and whey and some whey protein: ½ cup Soya flour, ½ cup whey protein, 3 eggs, ¾ tsp baking powder, 4 tablespoons olive oil. Bake in a loaf pan 4½ inches by 8½ inches by 2½ inches at 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Simply mix together all of the ingredients and then pour into the pan. You can sprinkle some sunflower seeds on the top. Bake for 25 minutes or until a toothpick stuck into the middle of the bread comes out clean. Serve immediately, but this will keep in your refrigerator for a few days or in the freezer for up to a month. 34: I have recently begun juicing and am really enjoying it. Your book, 'Juice High' really motivated me, in fact it has changed my life to a certain degree. I am currently use a cheap centrifugal juicer and am looking to upgrade to a better quality one. I have read about the Champion and was convinced it was the machine for me, until I read about the Green Life/Star. I have very limited time for juicing (I work full time and have two young children) and the fact that the Green Life/Star produces juice that will keep for up to 3-4 days, thus enabling you to bulk juice, really appeals to me. I would really appreciate your views on which is the better machine. I have read numerous websites but would value your opinion. Thank you. I’m afraid I don’t know this particular brand of juicer. The most effective juicers which take out the highest level of nutrients from vegetables and fruits are the hydraulic juicers, but they are very expensive see the Resources on my website. 35: I have just bought The X Factor Diet and it states that Stevia can be bought over the Internet from US companies and sent to the UK. However this is not the case. All the companies deliver only to the US and not internationally. Is there any company who will deliver to the UK? At the time of The X Factor Diet being published the company recommended, as a good supplier of Stevia Products, was the Stevita Company in the US. Unfortunately, since then they have changed their policy and now do not export their stevia products to the UK. A lady who has read The X factor Diet and wanted to buy stevia search the web for a company who exported their products abroad, she telephoned them and they were very happy to supply her with the stevia products she wanted. She very kindly got in touch to give me the email address of a company she found in the US. They are www.betterherbs.com This information is in the resources section of my web pages. Good luck, and please do get in touch to tell me if you find any other companies outside of the UK that will supply stevia. 36: On page 305 of The X Factor Diet whole oats are listed as having no carbohydrate or carb value. Is this a misprint. If so what are oats on the glycaemic index. Thank you for pointing this mistake out I will certainly follow it up with my publishers. The glycaemic index for whole oats and oatmeal is 61 and is listed on page 56 of The X Factor Diet. The table should read: Oats, whole grain, Amount 1 cup, Weight g 80, Carbohydrate g 25.3, fiber g 4.0, Usable carbohydrate g 21.3.
