| This is a journey
done by a shamanic practitioner to the spirit of her father who is suffering
from Alzheimer’s disease and often does not recognize his family – a difficult
situation for any one to be in. I suggested to this woman that she use her
shamanic facilities to journey in non-ordinary reality to the spirit of
her father which of course remains unaffected by the state of his brain.
When she reported her journey back to me I was so moved by it I suggested
she share it with Friends of the Website on Forum. I believe it has universal
wisdom that can benefit all of us.
Leslie DAD’S SPIRIT Dad's spirit is peaceful. It is ever attentive. I see it as a blue flame like that of a candle. The outer edges where spirit shines through is becoming worn and broken (memory, etc). It is the electrical system and because it is physical it was not made to last forever. This is the best way that Dad's spirit can be totally released and free from the body after the experiences of this lifetime. Sometimes this process needs to go slowly - that this why some illnesses are long. The 'shock' would otherwise be too great for the person, too traumatizing. Certain elements of the persona stays with spirit. Memory is only for earth and how to get about in life. You are 'clothed' differently for other 'worlds'. This is what your father chose, remember free will and this is less painful for him because he does not remember. It teaches you, Katherine, that a lifetime on earth as you know it, doesn't last forever. This makes me sad and tearful. I ask why things can't be in a way where they just fizzle themselves out in everyone else's time. No, because that would then depend upon the whims of humans and spirit would be trapped. Dad will allow himself to go when he is ready. Spirit and the persona are never far away from you. Nothing can separate but death allows more space and freedom. You need different eyes to see. The diseases of old age are all part of it - to be able to let go in certain cases. Dad's spirit is fine and you are his life link because of your very being. That's why he always recognizes you in some way although not always as his daughter or family member. As long as he is on earth, an individual, he needs nourishment, like food for the physical body. He nourishes you too Katherine. This interaction goes on ceaselessly in everything. We are here, not for ourselves, but for the sake of others. |
